I was recently blessed to attend the Training for Service (Good Friday) Meeting and hear brother Kazuyoshi (Paul) Mawatari from Japan share his vision of establishing an international Christian high school there. Within his story of faith and commitment he thanked us for sending missionaries to Japan without whom he and his wife may have never known of Jesus. He specifically mentioned Joe Cannon and I couldn’t help but think of hearing Joe speak out at Camp Omagh and saying how critical Omagh was in his becoming a Christian. Ripples. Ripples from Omagh now reaching around the world and back. Never underestimate how God uses us as jars of clay to work his amazing will. What can you do to help? Can you spend a week out at Omagh cooking or teaching? Can you give a day or a few hours to help prepare our facilities? Can you give financial support for a camper who might otherwise not be able to attend? Can you pass on a corporation membership form and encourage someone else to become a supporter? There is such a range of levels for involvement but all are vital. I am continually amazed by the way God blends the gifts and love of literally hundreds of people to the unified end result of "Camp Omagh". Please prayerfully consider and do what you can to be a part. Let’s keep sending out ripples. You will be blessed and God will be glorified.

For over 70 years now, the word of God has been shared with young people on the grounds of Camp Omagh. Through the insight of Mr. and Mrs. William Johnstone, many have come to know God and Jesus in their lives. Over the years there have been dedicated teachers, counsellors, cooks and directors that have united in the common cause of Omagh Bible School. Every year there are opportunities to be part of this great work of sharing our Christian lives with young people of all ages and every year these needs are met by individuals like you. As Paul wrote, ‘I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth,’ each one of us can fill a position in this ministry that God continues to bless. This year Camp Omagh has a full slate of programs tailored to the needs of different age groups. I encourage you to continue to be a part of the great work that occurs at Camp Omagh so the message of Christ can be spread to those that need it.
For the Directors, David Jaggard
Cooks are needed for a number of programs this summer. Whether you have previous experience as a camp cook or not, this would be a great opportunity to provide an important service to others. If you can volunteer as a cook please contact Debbie Whittington at 905-584-9955, Patrick Hunter-Buffington at 905-877-4417 or email us at personnelandprogram@campomagh.org
A variety of volunteer opportunities are available at Camp Omagh this summer! If you are able to help with maintenance projects, cleaning, or as a camp cook, please contact Patrick Hunter-Buffington at personnelandprogram@campomagh.org. (If you are in high school this would be an excellent way to meet your community service requirements.)
Have you been to a Corporation Meeting & Dinner lately? If you haven’t, this will be the year to attend. We have made a number of changes and improvements that we hope you will like. So please mark the date on your calendar and stay tuned for more details. The Corporation Meeting & Dinner is on October 22 and will start at 3:00 p.m. See you there!
Last year we formed a vision committee to consider what direction the camp will take with respect to our purpose, our program and our facility. The committee is beginning by looking back to the very beginning of camp when the Johnstone family began to invite kids to spend time in the country and learn about the gospel. Over the last 68 years, that original vision has brought us 16,000 campers. That vision is still alive and will continue to be at the heart of our future plans. If you are interested in serving on this committee contact Mark Heuston. He can be reached at 519-684-6786 or maintenanceandprojects@campomagh.org.
Every year at camp we try to make some improvements to our existing facility and equipment at camp. Our goal is that the camp facilities will be problem free for the whole summer. As well, we want to provide an environment that remains true to the country camp many remember from when they were campers. Here is a list of the projects we plan to undertake this year:
Water fountain replacement
Weeping bed repair for McKerlie house
Side walk improvements around washrooms
Play ground equipment repairs
Tree replacements
McKerlie House ceiling finish
Johnstone Hall ceiling finish
McKerlie House stairwell ceilings
Wood beds for Knowledge and Faith cabins
Painting of the pool
Other projects we are investigating are the replacement of the lawn mowing equipment and possible upgrade of the playground equipment with CSA approved items. As always, there is plenty to do that is not on the above list. If you are available to help with any of these projects on any Saturdays in June, contact Mark Heuston. You can reach him at maintenanceandprojects@campomagh.org or 519-684-6786.

To facilitate communication about camp news and activities, we are in the process of finding at least one person in each congregation in Ontario, to be the contact person for camp. By having a contact person at a congregation, we will ensure that camp-related materials are not lost in the shuffle. This person will also be able to ensure that any announcements about camp activities or camp needs are communicated to the congregation. At present, we have seven designated contacts for seven congregations. If this responsibility sounds like something you may be interested in, call Rick Burrows at 905-455-4907 or send an email to campomaghambassador@campomagh.org
Have you visited the camp website lately? If you have visited it before, we invite you to take another look. We have added a number of pictures from last summer. The address for the website is www.campomagh.org
