On July 13, 2003 the commemorative bell in the bell tower was officially rung for the first time. Willis Johnstone, Wilma Moore, and Ella Walker were invited to camp to ring the bell for supper during Week 1. All of the campers gathered around the tower while Russ Walker (Ella's son) told them a little of camp's history and how it has touched the lives of so many people over the years. Then the bell, which commemorates the 60 years that camp has been incorporated, was rung to officially start the 2003 Camp Season.
